Yesterday was day 3 of my raw food detox. The first day was pretty easy but days 2 and 3 I felt nauseous in the mornings, despite how much or how little I ate, and had terrible headaches in the evening, probably from caffeine withdrawal. Today I feel pretty good, although it was only a 3 day detox so I can’t imagine I would feel much different. One big change I did notice was my skin. I don’t know if it’s just a coincidence but my skin has cleared up considerably in the last few days.
I don’t think a 100% raw food diet is for me, but I would like to incorporate as much raw food into my currant diet as I can. For instance I’ll still have the occasional hot soup or protein shake and for breakfast, I’ll have Banana Mash Oatmeal. I’m also quite active in the summer and enjoy weight lifting year round so I need more protein to support muscle growth. I don’t think I could get enough from a raw food.
I found it difficult finding variety when eating raw. A lot of recipes I found called for soaking nuts for 6-12 hours or dehydrating food for 8 hours instead of cooking it. I just don’t have the time to prepare food like that and I don’t have the equipment needed (ie: dehydrators & juicers).
With all that said, I would still like to continue to eat raw food as much as I can, just not 100% of the time.
